Rest the iPhone flat against the roof surface or a straight reference edge that matches the roof plane. Keep the phone still and avoid holding it freely in the air. Once the reading settles, tap Lock to preserve it.

Small movement, an uneven contact surface, a case that prevents the phone sitting flat, or a loose reference edge can affect a reading. Remove bulky cases, use a rigid straightedge when necessary, and wait for the stability indicator before locking.

Calibrate when you first use Pitchline, after changing cases or mounting hardware, or whenever a known level surface does not read as expected. In Settings, open Calibration and follow the on-screen steps on a stable, level surface.

Surface is for resting the phone flat against the plane you want to measure. Edge is for placing the phone against a straight board, rafter, or other linear reference that follows that plane. Both modes report the same pitch units; choose the one that fits how the phone is supported.

Yes. Pitch measurement uses your iPhone's motion sensors. Camera access is only used for the optional alignment view. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > Pitchline.

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account used for the purchase. Then open Pitchline Settings and choose Restore Purchases. Apple manages all App Store billing and refunds.

Projects and measurement history are stored on your device. Deleting the app can remove locally stored content. Export any reports you need before deleting or changing devices.
